| Notes: IMAP E-Mail Protocol |
IMAP (Internet Mail Access Protocol) is a sophisticated mail
system that manages your mail directly on the server, and lets you
create multiple folders. It can be more convenient than POP3, but
remember that if you keep your mail on the server then it will use up
your disk quota. If your mailbox gets too large, mail sent to you
will start bouncing because you will not be allowed to use any more
space on the server! Note that your IMAP folders will also be
available via web mail. Close |
